istory:
Back in the early 18 century, the land we are located, as well as the land of all neighboring farms, belonged to the Spanish Crown.
As time went on, the huge land property of the Spanish’s, was sold and divided in many smaller farms.
In 1973 Estancia Renacimiento with almost 1000 acres land, began its dairy operation, milking 300 cows a day.
Later in 1998 our estancia become involved in beef production, and since 2003, as the price of grain moved up, we switched to corn, wheat and soybean, production.
However we are still managing some dairy cows, sheep and horses.
The main house (110 years old) is still in use, was built by a British citizen Mr. Wilfred Compton for his honeymoon, by the time the railway company in Uruguay, was managed by the British.
Since the beginning in 1973 up to now, the Estancia is the property of a Uruguayan married couple of veterinary practitioners: Mirtha and Luis.
